EarthBi is an Italian “green” start-up that proposes a new biobased and highly biodegradable plastic material, which doesn’t pollute because it dissolves in a short time.
Through a patent developed thanks to a study carried out in collaboration with Italian scientists and industrial chemists, the PLA (polylactic acid) is made better, expanding its use capabilities and making it suitable for different production processes, even the most complex ones.
Earthbi bioplastic is obtained using biomasses derived from production waste of natural origin and can be disposed through normal composting processes.
The patent was filed at Ufficio Italiano Brevetti e Marchi -the Italian patent and trademark office – with this number 102019000002891, in collaboration with Studio Torta, one of the leading Italian companies specializing in patents.
From the first bioplastic production line in Italy, located in the Pomezia plant (RM), plants will be developed in Slovenia and Malta in the coming months, for a total final capacity of about 60,000 tons / year.
